This weekend Jordan and I looked at sites in the Anacortes area. We found a couple really nice sites, Scimitar Ridge and the Majestic Hotel. Both sites have the good features of holding lots of people and being close to other Anacortes attractions.

Scimitar Ridge was absolutely beautiful. The only downsides are the expense (it's at the top end of the range) and the fact that it is in bankruptcy right now. Eek! We'll know more in a couple weeks.

Majestic Hotel is under reconstruction right now, but we peeked inside and it looked like mostly cosmetic stuff.

To round out our theme of high-risk sites, we also debriefed on the tent guy's visit to Hay Mountain. The view is killer, but the ground is not so level. We would need to get a bobcat to shape the land, then lay seed and build a lawn. This is fairly simple here in the rainy Pacific NW, but might not be desired by the neighbors. To be continued.

We've looked at a few sites around seattle. There was a giant red barn in a fancy-schmancy strip mall, a mini-mansion with a turkish room, and an almost yaught club. None of them are quite what we're looking for.
